Cholesterol Levels

by on Sep.02, 2009, under Cholesterol

When I got the follow up call from my doctor he told me that all my lab work came up fine except for my cholesterol levels.

The desirable levels for total cholesterol is less than 200 mg/dL (milligrams per deciliter). To be at high rist you have to be anything over 240 mg/dL. I was told that my levels were over 1500 mg/dL. That’s at least 7.5 times the top end of the desirable levels for cholesterol.

The desirable levels for Triglyceride levels is less than 150 mg/dL. The very high levels is anything over 500 mg/dL. Mine was only in the high level sitting at 330 mg/dL.

My battle against cholesterol has now begun…
